Good toy for several months(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: I bought this for my niece because my daughter had played with one when she was about her age and I was impressed (as was my daughter). The gumball machine is good for motor development, particularly coordination skills. At first, the child only knows how to get the balls to come out, by pressing the blue lever on the side. That makes music play and lights dance. Around 9 months, kids start putting things into containers and such, then the toy gets more useful since he/she can do it all by themselves. Up until this point they need help retreiving the balls and putting them back in the top. However, I doubt whether this toy will get a lot of use after the child is over a year old, but I think the gumball machine is a still good buy for around $[...].
The next step up is the green Dinosaur (Rock 'n' Roar Dinosaur??) that kids sit in front of and put balls in holes. My daughter got that as a gift and really likes it, but it's price tag is $[...]. She really got interested in it around 11 months, but my friend's 4 year old likes it too, so maybe it'll be a toy with a longer lifespan. |
